How To Advance In The Field
Writer Training Course 3, Lesson 1
Do Send Query Letters
A query letter is a letter that you send to an editor before you decide to write for that publication. A query is useful in many ways. For example, they might recently have published an article on the topic on which you want to write and it might be unacceptable to them. Even the careful reader is not always able to remember all what the publication has carried in the past months or years. Further, is not possible for a writer to read all issues of all the publications for which he might want to write. In such situations the guidance of the editor becomes important.
